Booyah! Everything significant or time consuming I do from now on mostly has to be on weekends and that means moving into a new apartment this Saturday because that’ll take up the entire day. But I wouldn’t be lifting any finger because I’m paying the moving service a lot they can just solicit tips from Tin and maybe get lucky and get a kiss or a pat on the forehead?
Tina’s leaving for Manila and offered to have me take over her contract which means no down payment and all that monthly deposit bullshit for me. Yay? She’s a doll for giving me her place because the others that I’ve checked are beyond living conditions. *gasp* Some houses have curfews and I had to tell the owner that my husband is a seaman who is constantly away (if ever I needed some excuse for visitors). Others are exaggeratedly costly I cannot afford to pay more just because they installed a heater system in their bathrooms. They charge 6,500 and 5,000 of that is the heater. WTF?
But I’ve always loved house hunting and the que horror of meeting landlords who leer at you after giving you the once over and ask, “Are you alone?” or a landlady who practically shoves you a prayer book after her litany of no curfews, no nocturnal visitors, no loud talking and no skimpy outfits . Tin giggled at the absurdity of it all and shook me hard I hit the door with my arm. I subconsciously let out a, “Bilat!” and the lady did the sign of the cross and almost threw us out. Fun! Fun!
Now five houses, three ATMs, six boyfriends and #@$#! Lovers’ wiser, the series will only end if I’ll learn to eat vegetables and add that to my diet – which is never? So I stopped counting the seasons and decide to shop for clothes this rainy season.
By the way, we’re also planning on a Cebu blogosphere mailing list that will unite all bloggers in the Visayas region. Thanks to Aileen who is going to be helping us out, this is finally going to materialize – a venue for Visayan bloggers to socialize.
If interested in my psychobabble, just email me at getxtina@gmail.com or leave comments here.
Daghang Salamat, bai! =)
